Anne worked for Gillette Manufacturing for many years before retiring. She Loved to shop especially at Building 19 where she could find all the bargains. She loved her family, entertaining and could never resist a fried chicken dinner. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Anne came to Boston in the 1960s, and married Elbert Walker while pregnant with her youngest son, Michael, in 1961. The family moved to the house on Centre St. in 1975, where they lived and spent a considerable amount of time together throughout the years.

MRS. CLAUDIA ANN HENDERSON BOWEN POOLE, age 88 of Eastman, GA formerly of Ocean Shores, WA passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at her residence. Ann Hemperley Dobbs died peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1953 she married Don Dobbs, and in 1955 they moved to Spartanburg, SC where Don joined the faculty at Wofford College and taught Biology for forty years.
She was a member of the Horticulture Garden Club and the Home Demonstration Club. One of her greatest legacies was the Victorian Christmas celebration. As one of the original organizers of the annual event, she was responsible for the lighted Christmas parade that is still held every year. There’s so much that can be said about her, she was good-hearted, helped a lot of people, and, as an ordained minister, married many couples. Anne loved shopping , fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, have so many memories with her and often spent a lot of time together playing at her house.
